For the past year I’ve read selections from subscriber mailings as a part of an Instagram Livestream series opening submissions from my incarcerated readers for Mailroom Mondays and you can still find those here. While those livestreams gave whomever happened to be on instagram at the time a taste of prisoner realities, this new series format your host will be taking a deeper dive into prisoner narratives selected in feature mailings each week.
This series will feature a select piece of prison mail ranging from operation forms to artwork and even rant-worthy exposés during each slip that will give viewers a peek into the private workings of the prison institution. I’ll also be addressing unanswered questions about mailings as they’re commented. This week as we look into CDCr we get a special report on staff treatment of hunger and work strikers at CSATF-Corcoran.
