Where Are You Taking Yourself in this Movement?

During the National Prison Strike in 2018, community members from across the country came together to raise their voices in solidarity with people in prison around 10 demands. Each demand has its own individual campaign goals, push for policy changes and some have more recently been more successful than others, but they are each making their own progress in different states as more people join into the prison resistance movement.

As a sympathetic worker or a business owner, you may be more interested in companies’ exploitation of labor, that makes gravitate towards demand #2. Maybe you have a loved one that’s been over-sentenced and demand #4 resonates with you. Perhaps, as an educator, your interests may be more in line with demand #9. We are all gifted with different skillsets and abilities based upon our individual experiences that could contribute to this movement. Whether you know someone who’s incarcerated or not, there is a place for you. There are several ways to plug in to resist PISC based upon individual skillset and capacity. There are so many angles to attack this monster from so there’s always room for more warriors in this war.
